Scientifically engineered.
Independently tested.
Our filter isn't a marketing promise. Every filtration stage is precisely defined, every claim backed by lab reports. Here you can see what's really inside and which standards our system meets.
Four stages. One seamless system.
No single filter medium can remove every group of contaminants. That's exactly why we combine four complementary stages, each with a defined task, a defined material and a defined specification.
Pre-filter
Holds back coarse particles like sand, rust and sediment. Protects the delicate membrane from mechanical stress and extends its lifespan.
PES membrane
The heart of the system: holds back bacteria, microplastics and the finest particles purely physically. Without chemical additives and independent of water pressure.
Activated carbon block
Binds organic contaminants like chlorine, pesticides, pharmaceutical residues and PFAS compounds through adsorption onto high-density coconut shell activated carbon.
Ion Pad
Reduces calcium and magnesium ions in a controlled way. Makes the water softer in taste without fully demineralising it. Replaced every 20 days.
A membrane thinner than a human hair.
The image shows a cross-section of our membrane under the electron microscope. The honeycomb-like structure are the pores that the water flows through. Each one has a nominal pore size of 0.3 microns. For comparison: a bacterium is around 5 to 10 times larger.
It's manufactured at our production site in Schlieren. Every batch goes through two-stage quality controls (air permeation test and visual inspection) before it's released.
- Pore size 0.3 µm nominal
- Thickness approx. 70 µm
- PFAS-free No fluorinated components
180 grams of activated surface.
While the membrane sieves physically, the activated carbon works on a completely different principle: adsorption. Dissolved organic molecules adhere to the carbon's huge inner surface and are held there.
We rely on a compact activated carbon block made from coconut shells. It delivers a particularly fine-pored, uniform structure and reliably binds even very small molecules like chlorine, pesticides, pharmaceutical residues and PFAS compounds.
A small amount of elemental silver is integrated into the carbon block. It acts antibacterially and prevents germs from settling in the filter even during longer periods of standing.
- Form Activated carbon block (not granulate)
- Raw material Coconut shell activated carbon
- Weight 180 g per cartridge
- Antibacterial protection Silver-impregnated
Controlled limescale reduction.
Calcium and magnesium aren't harmful. On the contrary, they're valuable minerals. Classic water softeners remove them completely. We don't want that.
The Ion Pad is an ion exchange resin that swaps a targeted share of the calcium and magnesium ions for protons. This makes the water softer in taste and reduces limescale build-up in kettles and coffee machines, without stripping the water of its mineral content.
Unlike typical combination filters, whose descaling performance drops off after just a few weeks, the Ion Pad is replaced every 20 days. This keeps the effect consistently controllable and reproducible.
What our filter demonstrably delivers.
All values come from independent, accredited labs. We're happy to provide the detailed reports on request.
Note: The values refer to the drinkpure Home Filter under defined laboratory conditions over the entire intended filter service life. Minerals like calcium and magnesium remain in the water.
Tested to international standards.
We test our filters where the world's strictest drinking water standards are defined, in accredited third-party labs in Switzerland, the EU, the USA and Asia.
Reduction of pharmaceutical residues and hormones (Phenytoin, Naproxen, Bisphenol A, Estrone among others). Passed at 200% of filter capacity.
Lead reduction at pH 6.5. Input concentration ~ 140 µg/L, filtrate confirmed below 5 µg/L — even at 200% of the stated cartridge capacity.
Migration test of the PES membrane in drinking water in accordance with the German KTW assessment basis. Passed for cold water use (23 °C).
British WRAS test for materials in contact with drinking water. Passed for Cold & Hot Water (up to 40 °C). UKAS-accredited under no. 0677.
Accredited Swiss environmental lab. Microbiological test with a highly spiked E. coli inoculum (9 million CFU/mL) — filtrate: not detectable.
IAPMO-recognised labs (USA / India) for pesticide, bacteria and heavy metal tests to NSF/ANSI and USEPA methods.
Industrial companies rely on our membrane.
What works in the tap at drinkpure, we also develop for leading industrial partners — from kitchen faucets to sanitary solutions to global filtration systems.
