Filters 100+ contaminants incl. PFAS and microplastics

The filter removes over 100 substances that are relevant in tap water. These include PFAS compounds, microplastics and microparticles, heavy metals like lead, mercury, arsenic and cadmium as well as pesticides like atrazine, lindane, chlorpyrifos or endosulfan. Organic residues, chlorine by-products and bacteria like E. coli are also reliably reduced – in tests down to below the respective detection limit.

The effectiveness was tested in independent, accredited laboratories in Switzerland, the EU and the USA. Testing was carried out according to recognized drinking water and NSF/ANSI standards, under realistic everyday conditions such as defined flow, pressure and across the entire filter service life. The results show a reproducible filtration performance with clearly measurable reductions of key pollutants.

This creates water that not only tastes better, but whose quality is verifiably tested – transparent, traceable and reliable.

Limescale reduction that really works

For limescale reduction, we deliberately rely on a separate Ion Pad that is specially tuned to a balanced water hardness. The goal is not to completely demineralize the water, but to regulate calcium and magnesium ions in such a way that taste, household appliances and pipes are noticeably relieved, without losing the natural minerality of the water.

Unlike many combination filters, whose descaling effect noticeably diminishes after a short time, the Ion Pad is changed regularly every 14 days. This keeps the limescale reduction constant and controllable. The actual replacement filter is changed independently of that every two months. This separation ensures that both the filtration of pollutants and the limescale reduction permanently remain at the intended level.

Patented PFAS-free membrane - Made in Switzerland

The filter membrane was developed at ETH Zurich by Dr. Christoph Kellenberger and Dr. Michael Loepfe and is based on years of research in the field of functional membrane materials. The patented structure combines several precisely tuned layers that specifically hold back different groups of pollutants while at the same time enabling a stable water flow.

Particular value was placed on material purity and long-term stability. The membrane manages without PFAS-containing materials and was designed so that its filtration performance remains reproducible not only in the laboratory but also in daily use. It thus combines scientific precision with a solution that works reliably in everyday life.

Effortless installation

All components of the filter system are designed for simple and reliable everyday use. Installation is done directly on the tap and is completed in just a few minutes – with no structural changes. The filter fits 99% of all common standard fittings; the most important adapters for M22 and M24 threads are included. Suitable solutions are also available for special shapes.

The system is not suitable for low-pressure fittings.

PFAS ("Forever Chemicals")

What is this?

PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are a group of extremely persistent industrial chemicals. Among other things, they're used in coatings, textiles, packaging and industrial processes, and they get into drinking water via households, industry and wastewater treatment plants. Once in the environment, PFAS practically no longer break down – hence the term „Forever Chemicals“.

Why is this relevant to you?

PFAS can accumulate in the body and are increasingly in the focus of new drinking water regulations. Even very low concentrations are considered critical. Many conventional filters don't deliver reliable results here – either because they bind PFAS insufficiently or because their filter performance fluctuates greatly.

Drinkpure filter performance:

In independent laboratory tests, DrinkPure was tested for 19 individual PFAS compounds. Across all the substances tested, the filter showed an average PFAS reduction of around 99%. The majority of PFAS were reduced to below their respective detection limits. For you, this means consistent and measurable filter performance across a broad PFAS group that you can rely on in everyday life.

The test result in detail

The PFAS filtration performance of DrinkPure was investigated in independent laboratories using quantitative analytics (LC-MS/MS). In this, 19 individual PFAS compounds were specifically spiked and evaluated individually, including short- and long-chain substances like PFOS, PFOA, PFNA, PFHxS, PFBS, PFDA, PFDoDA as well as fluorinated precursor compounds. The tests were carried out with defined input concentrations (50 ng/L per substance) and an evaluation based on the instrumentally determined measured values. For the majority of the tested PFAS molecules, the reduction was 100% down to below the respective detection limit (LOQ). Individual fluorinated transition compounds showed reduction rates between 91% and 97%. The average PFAS reduction across all tested substances was approx. 99%. In addition, it was checked whether during or after filtration there is any re-dissolution (relargage) of PFAS from the filter system. In this, no relevant PFAS concentrations above the respective detection limits could be detected in the filtrate.

Microplastics

WHAT IS THIS?

Microplastics are increasingly being detected in drinking water. The long-term effects on the human body haven't yet been conclusively researched, which is why prevention plays a central role. The crucial factor here is whether a filter system can actually physically retain particles in the relevant size range. Many filters aren't fine enough for this or don't deliver consistent results.

WHY IS THIS RELEVANT TO YOU?

Microplastics are increasingly being detected in drinking water. The long-term effects on the human body haven't yet been conclusively researched, which is why prevention plays a central role. The crucial factor here is whether a filter system can actually physically retain particles in the relevant size range. Many filters aren't fine enough for this or don't deliver consistent results.

DRINKPURE FILTER PERFORMANCE:

In independent laboratory tests, DrinkPure was specifically tested for microplastics and microparticles in the relevant size range. The results show a reduction of over 99 %. The particles are retained purely physically by the membrane filtration. The filtration takes place without chemical additives and without altering the natural composition of the water.

THE TEST RESULT IN DETAIL

The filtration performance against microplastics and microparticles was investigated under defined laboratory conditions. Standardized particles in the micro- and submicrometer range were used. The evaluation was carried out by quantitative particle counting before and after filtration.

Throughout the entire test period, DrinkPure showed a stable and reproducible retention rate of over 99%. A release of already retained particles from the filter system could not be detected. The results confirm a consistent physical barrier against microplastics in drinking water.

Bacteria & germs

WHAT IS THIS?

Bacteria and germs can get into drinking water from various sources, for example through pipe networks, in-house installations or stagnant water. These include coliform bacteria and Escherichia coli, among others. Even though drinking water is usually monitored, local contamination can occur, particularly in older buildings or after longer standing times.

WHY IS THIS RELEVANT TO YOU?

Microbiological contamination isn't visible to the naked eye. Even low bacteria counts can impair water quality. For consumers, the crucial factor is whether a filter system reduces bacteria reliably and reproducibly, without depending on fluctuating operating conditions.

DRINKPURE FILTER PERFORMANCE:

In independent laboratory tests, DrinkPure was tested for relevant bacterial contamination. The results show a reduction of over 99,9999 % for the bacteria tested. The retention takes place through physical membrane filtration, without the use of chemical additives or disinfectants.

THE TEST RESULT IN DETAIL

The microbiological filtration performance was investigated in independent laboratories as a challenge test with defined germ loads. For this, raw water was inoculated with known concentrations of bacteria and then quantified microbiologically before and after filtration. The determination was carried out via culture-based methods with plating and colony counting, expressed as CFU per volume. In addition, detection limits were documented in order to reliably capture reductions down to below the respective detection limit.

For Escherichia coli, a reduction of over 99.9999% was demonstrated, which corresponds to a log reduction of at least 6. This is within the range of the internationally common requirement criteria for bacterial reduction. The results were verified across several measuring points by analyzing raw water and filtrate samples in parallel in each case. In the filtrate, the germ counts were consistently below the detection limit, while in the raw water the defined initial load was confirmed.

Rust & sediment

WHAT IS THIS?

Rust, sediments and cloudiness often arise from corrosion in pipes, fittings or from deposits in the pipe network. These are solid particles that can be visible and impair water quality, even if they aren't necessarily harmful to health.

WHY IS THIS RELEVANT TO YOU?

Particles such as rust or sediments worsen the visual and sensory quality of drinking water. They can damage appliances, clog filters or build up in household installations. For consumers, the crucial factor is whether a filter system reliably and permanently retains these particles.

DRINKPURE FILTER PERFORMANCE:

DrinkPure reliably retains rust particles, sediments and cloudiness. The retention takes place through physical membrane filtration, without chemical additives or altering the composition of the water.

THE TEST RESULT IN DETAIL

The retention effect against rust, sediments and cloudiness was investigated under defined laboratory conditions. For this, water samples were spiked with standardized particles. The particle size was in the relevant micro- and submicrometer range. Before and after filtration, the turbidity in NTU as well as the particle concentration were determined quantitatively.

The measurements show a reduction of the turbidity by over 99%. In the filtrate, the turbidity values were consistently below the detection or measurement limit. The results were verified across several throughput levels and show a stable, reproducible physical retention of the particles throughout the entire test period.

Limescale & water hardness

What is this?

Limescale is formed by calcium and magnesium ions dissolved in the water. It isn't a pollutant, but it does affect taste, household appliances and fittings. Depending on the region, water hardness can vary greatly. The goal is therefore not complete softening, but a controlled reduction that improves the taste and reduces deposits.

Why is this relevant to you?

Very hard water can cause a flat or bitter taste and leads to limescale deposits in kettles, coffee machines and fittings. At the same time, calcium and magnesium are natural components of drinking water. The crucial factor is therefore a balanced reduction that reduces limescale without completely demineralising the water.

Drinkpure filter performance:

DrinkPure reduces limescale in a targeted and controlled way. The reduction isn't complete, but done so that the taste of the water is improved and the natural mineral composition is retained. The limescale reduction is firmly integrated into the filter system and requires no chemical additives.

The test result in detail

The effect on water hardness was investigated under controlled laboratory conditions. For this, raw water samples with a defined total hardness were analyzed and the concentrations of calcium and magnesium ions were determined before and after filtration. In addition, the total hardness was measured as a calcium carbonate equivalent.

The results show a measurable reduction of the total hardness in the filtrate compared to the raw water. The reduction remained stable and reproducible throughout the entire test period. At the same time, it was confirmed that calcium and magnesium are still present in the water and no complete softening takes place. The measurement results thus prove a controlled limescale reduction that is designed for taste and everyday suitability.

Pesticides & agricultural residues

What is this?

Pesticides are chemical active substances used in agriculture to protect plants. These include herbicides, insecticides and fungicides, among others. These substances can get into drinking water via rain, soil and groundwater. Many pesticides are stable even in very low concentrations and are only partially removed in conventional water treatment processes.

Why is this relevant to you?

Pesticide residues are regularly detected in groundwater and drinking water. Even low concentrations are considered undesirable, since they can be absorbed over the long term. For consumers, the crucial factor is whether a filter system reliably reduces a broad range of different active substances and not just individual substances under ideal conditions.

Drinkpure filter performance:

In independent laboratory tests, DrinkPure was tested for various relevant pesticide active substances. The results show a reduction of over 95 % across the substances tested. The reduction takes place through adsorption onto high-density activated carbon in combination with the upstream membrane filtration. The filtration takes place without chemical additives.

The test result in detail

The pesticide reduction performance of DrinkPure was investigated in independent laboratory tests under defined and reproducible conditions. Several relevant pesticide active ingredients were added to the test water in known concentrations in the low microgram-per-liter range and determined analytically both before and after filtration. The evaluation was carried out across several measuring points, distributed over the entire intended usage range up to 600 liters of filtration volume.

Across all tested active ingredients, DrinkPure showed an average reduction of over 95%. The filtrate concentrations were significantly below the initial values throughout the entire test. Even with increasing throughput, the reduction performance remained stable and reproducible. The results show that the filtration is not limited to individual substances but works reliably across different classes of pesticides.

Pharmaceutical residues

What is this?

Medication residues and organic trace substances are chemical substances that come from pharmaceuticals, household products and industrial applications. They get into wastewater through human use, wastewater treatment plants and industrial inputs, and from there partly into drinking water. Many of these substances are biologically active and effective even at very low concentrations.

Why is this relevant to you?

Wastewater treatment plants aren't designed to completely remove all organic trace substances. Accordingly, medication residues are increasingly being detected in drinking water. For consumers, the crucial factor is whether a filter system reliably reduces a broad range of chemically diverse active substances and not just individual substances under idealised conditions.

Drinkpure filter performance:

In independent laboratory tests, DrinkPure was tested for various relevant medication residues and organic trace substances. Across all the substances tested, the filter showed an average reduction of over 95%.

Heavy metals

What is this?

Heavy metals and inorganic pollutants are natural or technically induced components of drinking water. These include lead, mercury, cadmium, arsenic, chromium as well as other metals and inorganic ions, among others. They can come from geological formations, old pipes, fittings or industrial inputs, and get into tap water that way.

Why is this relevant to you?

Some heavy metals can be relevant to health even in very low concentrations. Elevated levels can occur particularly in older buildings or in regions with corresponding geological conditions. The crucial factor is therefore whether a filter system reduces metals reliably and permanently, and not just in the short term or under ideal conditions.

Drinkpure filter performance:

In independent laboratory tests, DrinkPure was tested for various relevant heavy metals and inorganic pollutants. Across all the substances tested, the filter showed an average reduction of over 95 %. The reduction takes place through the combination of membrane filtration, activated carbon and ion exchanger. The filtration takes place without chemical additives.

The test result in detail

The reduction performance against heavy metals and inorganic pollutants was investigated under controlled laboratory conditions. The individual metals were added to the test water in defined concentrations and determined analytically before and after filtration. The measurements were carried out across several throughput levels in order to map the filter performance across the intended usage range.

The results show a stable and reproducible reduction of the concentrations in the filtrate across all tested metals. The reduction was consistent throughout the entire test and not limited to individual substances. The test results thus prove a reliable filter performance against heavy metals in drinking water.

Chlorine

What is this?

Chlorine is used in the drinking water supply for disinfection. It ensures microbiological safety, but can significantly affect the odour and taste of the water. In addition, chlorination can produce what are known as chlorine-related by-products, including trihalomethanes (THMs), which can also be detected in drinking water.

Why is this relevant to you?

Chlorine and its by-products not only affect the taste and odour of the water, but are also in the focus of health assessments. Many consumers find chlorinated water unpleasant. The crucial factor is therefore whether a filter system reliably reduces chlorine without negatively changing the fundamental water quality.

Drinkpure filter performance:

DrinkPure effectively reduces free chlorine as well as chlorine-related by-products. The reduction takes place through adsorption onto high-density activated carbon. This significantly improves the taste of the water, without any chemical additives being used.

The test result in detail

The reduction of free chlorine was investigated in independent laboratory tests under controlled conditions. The chlorine concentration in the raw water was set to a defined level and quantitatively determined before and after filtration. The measurement was carried out photometrically according to standardized methods for the determination of free chlorine. In addition, organochlorine by-products, including trihalomethanes, were captured analytically.

The results show a reduction of free chlorine by over 95%. The measured concentrations in the filtrate were significantly below the initial values and remained stable throughout the entire test period. Chlorine-related by-products were also significantly reduced. The tests confirm a reproducible adsorption performance of the activated carbon across the intended usage range, without signs of premature saturation.

How is the DrinkPure Home filter constructed?

The DrinkPure HOME filter works in 4 stages:

1. Ion Pads: reduce limescale and heavy metals (e.g. lead, copper) and improve the taste.
2. Pre-filter: holds back coarse particles like sand, rust, dirt or microplastics.
3. Membrane (0.3 microns): filters bacteria, viruses, microplastics and the finest particles.
4. Activated carbon: binds organic pollutants, chlorine, drug residues, pesticides and PFAS. Removes odors and noticeably improves the taste.

Minerals like calcium and magnesium remain in the water.

Can I filter hot water with DrinkPure Home?

With the DrinkPure HOME you can also use mixed water. However, we recommend not filtering water above 65 °C. The filter works like a mechanical sieve and filters reliably regardless of temperature.
Please note: hot water often contains more deposits. As a result, the filter can clog more quickly and the flow rate can drop. The filter performance itself is retained.

Is limescale filtered?

What materials are used and does the filter release any chemicals?

The DrinkPure HOME filter is made of food-safe materials that are approved for contact with drinking water: filter membrane, activated carbon, Ion Pads and housing parts made of high-quality plastic or stainless steel.
No chemicals are released into the water. The filter works purely mechanically and is chemically neutral.

Are minerals retained in the water?

Yes, with the DrinkPure HOME filter the important minerals such as calcium and magnesium largely remain in the water.

What happens during first use (black water) and is it safe?

It's normal for activated carbon dust to come out on first use. This is a sign that the filter is new and unused. The dust has to be rinsed out. The activated carbon is harmless.

How does the quick coupling work?

The quick coupling is designed so that you can attach and detach the filter effortlessly, without using screws or tools. A rubber ring ensures that no water leaks out once the filter is clicked in. This way you can quickly switch between filtered and unfiltered water.

What's included in the delivery?

Included in the standard scope of delivery are the filter housing, the quick coupling with standard connections (M22/M24), a replacement filter set (cartridge + 3 Ion Pads) as well as the wall mount.

What are the dimensions and weight of the models?

Transparent & Black: approx. 120 g

Steel: approx. 410 g

Dimensions: height 13 cm, width 12 cm, depth 9 cm

What's the difference between Transparent, Black, and Steel?

Transparent: BPA-free plastic housing with viewing window, light and practical.

Black: BPA-free plastic housing in black, light and practical.

Steel: stainless steel housing, particularly durable and high-quality.

Why does a TDS meter show no change?

A TDS meter only measures the sum of all dissolved solids (minerals, salts, ions), but not pollutants, microplastics or bacteria. Since minerals such as calcium and magnesium stay in the water, the TDS value barely changes – even if the filter reliably removes pollutants.

What sets DrinkPure Home apart from other water filters?

The DrinkPure water filter combines four filtration stages in one compact system: Ion Pads, pre-filter, membrane and activated carbon. It's easy to install, needs no specialist company and is made entirely in Switzerland.

Does the filter get germy when not in use?

A small amount of silver is bound into the activated carbon in the filter. This silver acts antibacterially and inhibits the growth of germs. As a result, the filter stays hygienic even during longer periods of non-use. So you don't have to replace the filter immediately if it's only used occasionally.

Are there test reports and certificates?

Yes. Our filters have been tested by independent third-party laboratories and ETH Zurich.

The test reports were carried out by independent third-party laboratories:

In addition, there are two test reports with tap water from Jakarta (Indonesia) and Shanghai (China). After filtration, this water meets or exceeds all WHO standards.

All our products are of course BPA-free.

Why does the filter leak after changing the cartridge?

Usually it's due to incorrect assembly or deposits. Make sure the threads are clean and screwed tight, but not over-tightened. Clean the seals if necessary and grease them with Vaseline or silicone grease.

How can I test my drinking water?

The most accurate are professional analyses by specialised water laboratories. There you can have your tap water specifically tested for pollutants.

Can I drink water from any source?

No. The DrinkPure filter is developed for tap water and reduces pollutants, microplastics, bacteria and viruses in it. It doesn't replace unsafe natural or heavily polluted water – full treatment is necessary here.

What do I do if the standard connectors (M22/M24) don't fit?

The standard M22 and M24 adapters supplied should fit almost all models. If you have a special model, take a look at our Adapter Guide.

You can also send us a picture of your tap at any time via email or WhatsApp.

Which faucets is DrinkPure not compatible with?

Not suitable for low-pressure faucets or special custom faucets.

What happens to the water pressure or flow after installation?

Since the water runs through several filter layers, the flow drops a little. Typically, with a new filter it's between 1,0 and 5,0 litres per minute – depending on the pipe pressure. The filter performance stays consistently high.

How exactly does the filter subscription work?

Every two months you automatically receive a replacement filter set (one cartridge + three Ion Pads). The cartridge is changed every two months, the pads every 20 days.

How can I cancel, pause, or change the details of my subscription?

Quite simply online in your customer account. There's no notice period.

What payment options are there?

For the subscription, PayPal, credit card (Mastercard, Visa, Amex, Union), Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay are available. For individual purchases, Klarna is also available. We don't offer bank transfer or advance payment.

How does shipping work, how long does it take, and does it cost anything?
